BILL RADKE is back on the SEATTLE airwaves as he joins BONNEVILLE Talk KIRO-F as host of "SEATTLE'S MORNING NEWS," 5-9a (PT). RADKE, best remembered in the market for his long run at the UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON's noncommercial News-Talk KUOW as local "MORNING EDITION" host and creator of the weekly satirical news show "REWIND," will join news anchor LINDA THOMAS on KIRO's morning news block.
RADKE, who has most recently hosted AMERICAN PUBLIC MEDIA's "MARKETPLACE MORNING REPORT" and the web video "MARKETPLACE MINUTE" and hosted "WEEKEND AMERICA" for APM, said, "KIRO radio is a NORTHWEST icon to me. It's what I listened to growing up. I started calling KIRO's talk shows when I was 15! I can't wait to get back home, get on-air and online, and help create a really special show for a new generation of listeners."
"Our goal is to produce a show about the news that's fun and interesting even on slow news days," said BONNEVILLE SEATTLE OM RYAN HATCH. "We believe BILL can do that. He's one of those people you just want to hang out with; creative, curious, funny and a terrific storyteller. We're excited to bring him home to SEATTLE, the place he knows and loves best."
