GRAND SLAM SPORTS Sports KSLG-A (TEAM 1380)/ST. LOUIS afternoon host KEVIN SLATEN tells the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH that he has settled his wrongful termination lawsuit against BIG LEAGUE BROADCASTING, former owner of Sports KFNS-A-F/ST. LOUIS. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed, although SLATEN told the P-D's DAN CAESAR that he is "very happy, I feel vindicated."
SLATEN sued BIG LEAGUE in 2008 over his firing for an on-air incident in which he put a call with ST. LOUIS CARDINALS pitching coach DAVE DUNCAN on the air without informing DUNCAN that the call would be broadcast. SLATEN says that he was broadcasting from a remote location that day and did not know that his producer had not informed DUNCAN that the call would be on the air. KFNS has since been sold to GRAND SLAM SPORTS, which also operates KSLG.
