WXPN Philadelphia Launches Latest 885 Countdown

The folks at UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA Triple A WXPN/PHILADELPHIA have begun its annual 885 Countdown running TODAY (10/11) through FRIDAY, OCTOBER 15th.  This year’s top 885 are Ultimate Road Trip Songs!

More than 6,300 WXPN listeners selected the top 10 songs they would take on an extended ride on the highway during a multi-media polling event.  The WXPN programming staff then narrowed the list down to the top 885 songs.  This is the sixth annual 885 Countdown.

"Road trips wouldn’t be the same without a soundtrack of great music," said BRUCE WARREN, WXPN PD.  "We’re excited to play this year’s countdown for our listeners and look forward to continuing the 885 Countdown tradition."

To celebrate the countdown launch, WXPN’s OCTOBER Radio Video will feature remakes of scenes from memorable films about road trips.  Starring in the video are WXPN hosts MICHAELA MAJOUN, HELEN LEICHT, DAVID DYE, KATHY O’CONNELL, DAN REED, MIKE VASILIKOS and WARREN.
