It's a trifecta of moves for CLEAR CHANNEL/NORFOLK, with Urban AC WKUS (105.3 KISS FM) moving -- to 2 frequencies. The new simulcast KISS will air on 92.1, which had been WCDG (COOL 92.1) and 107.7 WJCD, which drops its Smooth Jazz format.
Back at the 105.3 frequency, WKUS flips to a Classic Hits stance, and positions itself as MAGIC 105.3, with a mix described as the greatest hits of the baby-boomer generation, including MOTOWN and Top 40 acts popular during the 1970s such as DONNA SUMMER and KC AND THE SUNSHINE BAND.
Commenting on the new sound on 105.3, OM TRAVIS DYLAN said "It's not a new format like you were creating some kind of monster in the laboratory format. This is a format that is out there in other markets and they've had success with it. We feel that HAMPTON ROADS deserves a station like this."
