Is PANDORA targeting your in-car listeners? Count on it. THE SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE reports "early next year, FORD MOTOR CO. will be shipping FIESTA cars with software that operates PANDORA via voice controls. DAIMLER AG'S MERCEDES-BENZ also is promoting PANDORA in vehicles, and PIONEER ELECTRONICS sells car stereos that include the service."
In-car listening is the next target for the webcaster -- and along with that -- the advertisers who target those listeners. In addition, PANDORA is able to target users based on age, gender, home ZIP code and musical tastes, which gives advertisers the ability to run more relevant ads than what's possible on regular radio, said FORD Digital Marketing Mgr. SCOTT KELLY.
"It's very intimate," KELLY said in an interview with the paper. "Because PANDORA knows so much about the user and who they are, where they're listening and what artists they like, it really lets us hone in on that message."
