Frequent talk radio guest host DOUG URBANSKI will get his own syndicated daily show via WESTWOOD ONE starting in JANUARY, 2011. URBANSKI, a film and stage producer, has filled in for RUSH LIMBAUGH, MICHAEL SAVAGE, DENNIS MILLER, BILL O'REILLY, FRED THOMPSON, LAURA INGRAHAM, and others.
URBANSKI, who is Chairman of artists management group DMG and production company THE SE8 GROUP, has produced several of actor/director/screenwriter GARY OLDMAN's movies, including "The Contender," "Mil By Mouth," and "Nobody's Baby," and appears in the current #1 film in AMERICA, "The Social Network" as then-HARVARD Pres. LARRY SUMMERS. He is presently in LONDON serving as Exec. Producer of the film version of JOHN LECARRE's "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy," starring OLDMAN and COLIN FIRTH.
"When you find someone as schooled in talk radio as DOUG URBANSKI, with a resume so unique that it can't be matched by anyone else in the business, that spells 'winner' to me," said WESTWOOD ONE founder NORM PATTIZ. "His experiences are so varied and unique that his conservative, yet very independent, approach will be truly special. Add to that his charm, and the fact that he is genuinely funny, and you can see why we're so excited about this project."
URBANSKI said, "I am fortunate to have known everyone, been everyplace and done everything. My entire life people have said I should be on radio. These past five years speaking to millions of people for RUSH, SAVAGE, O'REILLY, INGRAHAM and others, combined with my own brand of humor, my love of telling 'the story', and my conviction that I am actually one thousand pundits rolled into one, it seemed to make sense to give me my own microphone."
"DOUG is already known as AGH, 'America's Guest Host,' so we knew it was time he had his own show," said SVP News and Talk BART TESSLER. "He combines politics, entertainment and humor like nobody else in talk radio."
