BBC Denies Chris Moyles Is Defecting To Capital FM

The BBC is denying reports that Top 40 BBC RADIO 1 morning host CHRIS MOYLES is planning to defect to join GLOBAL RADIO Top 40 CAPITAL FM/LONDON in time for its relaunch as a national service early in 2011. 

MOYLES remains under contract with the BBC, the network said, although his contract expires next JULY and he has been vocal with his unhappiness with his present situation, including a recent incident when he discussed on the air how he had not received a paycheck for an extended period.

THE INDEPENDENT reports that GLOBAL issued a statement in response to the rumors that said the company "is not in talks with MOYLES at the moment, but we would fully understand the attraction of joining CAPITAL FM as it goes national in early JANUARY."
