NEW ZEALAND sportscaster TONY VEITCH, who resigned his posts as morning host at THE RADIO NETWORK national Sports RADIO SPORT and as TVNZ "ONE NEWS" sports anchor in JULY 2008 after allegations of domestic violence, is returning to the RADIO SPORT morning slot starting in JANUARY.
The return of VEITCH, who rejoined THE RADIO NETWORK as a news anchor and fill-in host, bumps D'ARCY WALDERGRAVE to afternoon drive. MARK RICHARDSON, who has been serving as WALDERGRAVE's co-host, will leave the station.
VEITCH was sentenced to nine months' probation, a NZ$10,000 fine and 300 hours of community service in a case arising from his alleged assault of his former girlfriend KRISTEN DUNNE-POWELL in 2006.
