CAPITOL RECORDS NASHVILLE held it third CAPITOL STREET PARTY on Demonbreun Street in NASHVILLE last night (10/14), featuring performances by DARIUS RUCKER, LUKE BRYAN, TROY OLSEN, JENNETTE McCURDY and WALKER HAYES. McCURDY, who also stars in NICKELODEON’s hit TV show “iCARLY,” opened the show, also doing a meet-&-greet with people who brought school supplies for the PENCIL FOUNDATION of MIDDLE TENNESSEE.
OLSEN was up next, who recalled turning onto Demonbreun many times almost every day to write songs before he got his record deal with CAPITOL. BRYAN followed OLSEN, performing his hits like “Do I,” “Rain Is A Good Thing” and his current single, “Someone Else Calling You Baby.”
RUCKER hit the stage next, surprising the crowd with an appearance during his set from labelmate KEITH URBAN. The two performed URBAN’s hit “Raining On Sunday,” which was originally written and recorded by RADNEY FOSTER, featuring DARIUS on background vocals. They also played a rendition of STEVE MILLER’s classic, “The Joker.”
HAYES closed out the evening with a late night performance at the Demonbreun club TIN ROOF.
CAPITOL NASHVILLE President/CEO MIKE DUNGAN said: “Bigger and better, cooler and funner, by all accounts, a smashing event! Hats off to SVP Marketing, CINDY MABE, and her talented staff.”
