Mike Thompson Named PD At 710 ESPN/L.A.

ALL ACCESS has confirmed that veteran Sports and Talk programmer MIKE THOMPSON has been named PD at ESPN Sports KSPN-A (710 ESPN)/LOS ANGELES, filling the slot left vacant by the recent departure of LARRY GIFFORD to launch his consultancy.  

A tweet by DON BARRETT at LARADIO.COM broke the story on THURSDAY evening.

THOMPSON, most recently VP/GM at sister Sports WEAE-A (1250 ESPN)/PITTSBURGH, has worked in the L.A. market before at CLEAR CHANNEL Sports KXTA-A (XTRA SPORTS 1150), the predecessor to the present format at KLAC-A.  His resume includes stops at WEPN-A (1050 ESPN)/NEW YORK, WWDB/PHILADELPHIA, KTCK-A (THE TICKET)/DALLAS and WCNN-A/ATLANTA, as well as ABC RADIO.
