CLEAR CHANNEL made a major pitch of its radio group at the ASSOCIATION OF NATIONAL ADVERTISERS (ANA) annual Masters of Marketing conference. Last night it sponsored the event’s dinner event, and told advertisers about the company’s successful cross-media SUBWAY campaign, which was followed by a surprise GOO GOO DOLLS performance.
"This is the first time in recent years that radio has stepped up in a big way to market itself in front of AMERICA’s largest and most significant advertisers," consultant and former ARBITRON head PIERRE BOUVARD said. "In a sign of how the ad industry is recovering, the ANA event has drawn more than 1,600 people, breaking the previous record of 1,200 from 2009."
