Astral Gets CRTC OK To Move CKGR To FM

ASTRAL MEDIA RADIO has received CRTC approval to move CKGR-A/GOLDEN, BC to the FM band at 106.3 MHz with 8.900 watts, using an AC format.  The station presently rebroadcasts ASTRAL's AC CKXR (91.5 EZ ROCK)/SALMON ARM, BC.

In addition, the agency approved TOTAL CHANGE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES' application for a new low-power community Religion station in CAMPBELL RIVER, BC.  The station will operate with 26 watts at 88.7 FM.

And the Commission denied NORTHWEST BROADCASTING INC.'s application to increase power at Country CFQK (THE THUNDER)/KAMINISTIQUIA, ON and its rebroadcasting transmitter CKED/SHUNIAH, TOWNSHIP, ON.  NORTHWEST sought an increase from 50 to 250 watts at CFQK and 10 to 250 watts at CKED.
