CMT’s first scripted sitcom, “Working Class,” will begin filming in L.A. TOMORROW (10/19), starring “REBA” actress and “The Singing Bee” host MELISSA PETERMAN in the lead role of “CARLI MITCHELL.” Joining PETERMAN in the cast will be EMMY and GOLDEN GLOBE AWARD-winning actor ED ASNER as “HANK GREZNIAK,” CARLI’s neighbor and the butcher at the same grocery store where CARLI works. This is ED’s first TV role since “Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip” in 2006.
The rest of the cast includes STEVE KAZEE, PATRICK FABIAN, LACHLAN BUCHAHAN, COURTNEY MERRITT and CAMERON CASTANEDA. The series focuses on CARLI, a single mom who came from a “rough and tumble background,” who is trying to give her kids a better life by moving them to an upscale suburb. The 12-episode multi-camera series will premiere in JANUARY 2011 on CMT.
