Condolences to the family and friends of BOOM BOOM BRANNIGAN, whose real name was JOSEPH MOTTO, an ALBANY, NY pioneer of rock 'n' roll radio. He died TUESDAY at age 82.
Wrote THE ALBANY TIMES-UNION, "for decades, BRANNIGAN was the voice of the local airwaves, a high-profile DJ who delivered the hits that defined the music of the baby-boom generation. He was the go-to guy for sock hops and loved to dress the part."
Calling hours will be FRIDAY, OCTOBER 22nd from 4-7p at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, COLONIE. Funeral services will be private.
The family is asking fans not to send flowers. Instead, they are asking for donations to a scholarship fund in the SOUTH COLONIE schools. Memorial contributions can be made to SOUTH COLONIE Dollars for Scholars care of the BOOM BOOM BRANNIGAN BROADCASTING AND MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP FUND, Box 12413 ALBANY, NY 12212.
