Death has proven to be a great investment, living conditions notwithstanding. According to FORBES, MICHAEL JACKSON earned $275 million posthumously, which was more than the next 12 dead celebs combined, but also #2 behind OPRAH WINFREY on FORBES' Celebrity 100 list.

Other musical luminaries on the list (which also include the likes of DR. SEUSS, GEORGE STEINBRENNER and CHARLES SCHULZ) were ELVIS PRESLEY (#2, $60 million), JOHN LENNON (#5, $17 million) and JIMI HENDRIX (tied for #11, $5 million).
