The day after BROADCAST COMPANY OF THE AMERICAS and LOCAL MEDIA OF AMERICA dissolved their joint services agreement in SAN DIEGO, BCA has announces a sales agreement with COMPASS MEDIA Triple A KPRI. KPRI will sell ads for Sports XEPRS-A (XX 1090), Sports XEPE-A (1700AM ESPN RADIO), and Classic Hits XHPRS (105.7 THE WALRUS) under the RADIO SAN DIEGO banner. KPRI Sales VP PATRICK OSBURN will serve as Director of Sales for the four stations, and the companies say that there will be no format changes accompanying the new arrangement.
BCA CEO LARRY PARTICK said, "This agreement pairs the BCA station cluster with one of the best local selling operations in the country. The BCA stations have great formats and quality audiences. We expect the management of KPRI will bring the direction, strategy, and relationships that will help the BCA stations realize their maximum revenue potential."
COMPASS Pres. JONATHAN SCHWARTZ added, "We believe the combination of the KPRI sales operation and the BCA stations creates a market cluster which will be highly appealing to advertisers. KPRI offers an adult rock format that appeals to upscale listeners in central and north county SAN DIEGO. Our music and geographic appeal nicely complements the great oldies on 105.7 THE WALRUS. With XX1090 SPORTS RADIO, the SAN DIEGO PADRES, and 1700 AM ESPN RADIO, we offer the best of local and national sports talk."
