SOLID (SOCIETY OF LEADERS IN DEVELOPMENT)/NASHVILLE raised over $1,200 for NASHVILLE-based SWEET SLEEP at the second annual “SOLID Presents In The Round.” SOLID’s sold-out event, held OCTOBER 6th at the BLUEBIRD CAFÉ in NASHVILLE, featured performances by hit songwriters RHETT AKINS, CARY BARLOWE, DALLAS DAVIDSON and PHIL O’DONNELL. It raised funds through tickets sold, autographed hatch show prints and the generosity of some special friends in attendance.
SOLID VP IAN WOLCZYK said: “We were thrilled to have some of NASHVILLE's top songwriters donate their time and participate in this benefit for such a great cause. Ten months have past since the devastating earthquake struck HAITI and the need is still tremendous. We are happy to help SWEET SLEEP provide bedding and cots for orphanages that were affected.”
SWEET SLEEP Pres./Founder JENNIFER GASH added: “We’re so thankful for SOLID’s desire to help orphans in HAITI receive healthy, comfortable new beds and life-saving mosquito nets. Because of their support at their Writers in the Round event at the BLUEBIRD CAFE, 450 orphaned children will be sleeping under their new mosquito nets this CHRISTMAS – what a sweet showing of generosity from these wonderful music industry professionals.”
