WTOP Helps Police Catch Murder Suspect

The WASHINGTON Police Department is crediting BONNEVILLE News WTOP/WASHINGTON with an assist in the apprehension of a murder suspect FRIDAY afternoon (10/29).

A 13-year-old was killed and two other individuals wounded in the incident, and Police Chief CATHY LANIER personally called WTOP with the lookout information on the suspect.  The station immediately put LANIER on the air, and an off-duty U.S. Park Police officer heard the report, spotted the suspect and called police, who chased and eventually caught him.
