The FCC has proposed an $18,000 fine against BEACON BROADCASTING CO. for several violations at then-Classic Country WGRP-A and AC WEXC (C-107.1)/GREENVILLE, PA. The station allegedly failed to keep any issues/programs lists in its public file for its present license term, operated at excessive power on the AM station at night with a transmitter incapable of reducing power to the required input of 2.2 watts, and operated an STL on an unauthorized frequency for the FM station.
BEACON recently sold the stations along with WLOA-A/FARRELL, PA to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for $225,000 after the passing of BEACON owner HAROLD GLUNT.
