JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP Country KFDI/WICHITA will hold its annual CHRISTMAS IN BOX campaign, organized by morning co-hosts BRIAN and KELLIE, starting this SATURDAY (11/6). The campaign gathers items that can make the holidays better for AMERICAN men and women serving in the armed forces overseas. A drop drive will take place at the CREDIT UNION of AMERICA on SATURDAY (11/6) from 9a-1p (CT) and drives are scheduled through NOVEMBER 20th.
Cash donations to help cover the high cost of postage and shipping are needed and can be dropped off at CREDIT UNION OF AMERICA locations. Items needed include snacks like beef jerky, hard candy, coffee, trail mix, powder drink mixes and chewing gum; toiletries (especially travel size items) such as anti-bacterial wipes, deodorant, lip balm (SPF 15), toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, razors, shaving gel and body wash; entertainment items like new release DVD’s, music CD’s, puzzle books and 35 mm disposable cameras; CHRISTMAS decorations including plastic ornaments, garland, small boxed lights and wall hangings; and, most importantly, cards and letters of support and thanks from everyone, especially children.
A complete list of items and drive locations are available at http://www.kfdi.com
The goal is to send 1,000 boxes. Last year, 11 tons of items and $19,000 in cash were donated.
