In the wake of RANDY MICHAELS' departure as CEO of TRIBUNE CO., some of the former CLEAR CHANNEL executives recruited to TRIBUNE are exiting the company as well.
The CHICAGO TRIBUNE's PHIL ROSENTHAL reports that TRIBUNE INTERACTIVE Pres. MARC CHASE, SVP/COO JEFF KAPUGI and EVP CAROLYN GILBERT are all leaving the company, with GILBERT and KAPUGI confirming their departures to ROSENTHAL and CHASE unavailable for comment. KAPUGI told ROSENTHAL that his position had been "eliminated by "TONY HUNTER," head of the CHICAGO TRIBUNE MEDIA GROUP and a member of the four-member Executive Council named to replace MICHAELS.
In addition, former CLEAR CHANNEL CINCINNATI traffic reporter JOHN PHILLIPS is exiting his post as TRIBUNE Dir./Facilities, and his wife BETSY PHILLIPS is also leaving as VP/Sales for TRIBUNE BROADCASTING, according to ROSENTHAL.
