SCHOLASTIC, the global children’s publishing company, CLEAR CHANNEL/MIAMI and 1 (800) 411-PAIN have launched an annual campaign to promote literacy and the importance of reading throughout SOUTH FLORIDA. Listeners will learn about resources that can help them participate in getting more kids reading and more parents and caregivers reading with their kids.
"When we were provided the stats on the literacy rates in SOUTH FLORIDA, we immediately wanted to use our collective assets to educate the community on how reading 30 minutes per day with your children can improve so many facets of their lives," said CLEAR CHANNEL/MIAMI Dir./Sales LONNY ANGER. "We realized that many children and parents want to read but do not have the financial resources to purchase their own books. Through the generous support of 1 (800) 411-PAIN and their commitment to literacy and education, we are able to provide books to over 12,000 students through book fairs put on by SCHOLASTIC AMERICA. We couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this campaign."
