BONNEVILLE Adult Hits KZBR (95.7 MAX FM)/SAN FRANCISCO has decided to go jockless, more closely mirroring other Adult Hits-type stations in the company. In the wake of the decision, morning man WEB is out, while middayer DAWSON and traffic reporter JAN ELLE MARIE will most-likely stay on in behind-the-scenes roles at the station/cluster. MD/afternoon host TERI KING is off the air, but, as of this report, had not delivered a decision on whether or not she'll remain with the station.
In other MAX news, Dir./Operations BILL LUETH has informed us that the wait for new call letters is almost over, and that you can expect the station to begin broadcasting as KMAX as early as this week. LUETH assures us that the station is not flipping and that, in fact, management is merely honing the station and making it tighter. In other words, rumors of MAX's demise have been greatly exaggerated.
