The inaugural “DUNKIN' DONUTS/BASKIN-ROBBINS Family Day Presented by PARALLEL ENTERTAINMENT LOS ANGELES” drew a crowd of 650 HALLOWEEN revelers to the CURB EVENT CENTER at BELMONT UNIVERSITY in NASHVILLE on SUNDAY (10/31). The event raised $40,000 for the T.J. MARTELL FOUNDATION, the music industry's largest foundation that funds innovative medical research focused on finding cures for leukemia, cancer and AIDS.
In addition to a performance by CAPITOL RECORDS NASHVILLE artist JENNETTE McCURDY, who also stars in NICKELODEON's “iCarly” television show, attendees were treated to BASKIN-ROBBINS ice cream, DUNKIN' DONUTS, candy, toys, games, inflatables, face-painting and more. Several artists and their families, including MONTGOMERY GENTRY'S TROY GENTRY, LONESTAR'S DEAN SAMS, RODNEY ATKINS and LINDA DAVIS were spotted in the crowd.
A live auction during the event gave two lucky fans, CALI RODI and STEPHANIE GLASCO, the opportunity to sit on stage during JENNETTE's performance, and a silent auction featured everything from an autographed football to gift baskets. At the end of the event, kids had the opportunity to personally meet JENNETTE and have their pictures taken with her.
Next up for the T.J. MARTELL FOUNDATION is the "Country on the Beach" event NOVEMBER 18th-21st, 2010 at BEACH PALACE in CANCUN, MEXICO. Country artists and songwriters will mingle with the fans for activities like celebrity auctions, receptions, volleyball, celebrity bartending, karaoke, private concerts, poolside/oceanside clambake with performances, local tours, snorkeling and more. The artists scheduled to attend include CHUCK WICKS, KEITH ANDERSON, WADE HAYES, TRENT WILLMON, JAMES SLATER, LAURA BELL BUNDY and JOANNA SMITH.
