The CRTC has approved NEWCAP's application for a new FM transmitter site for its Country CHLW (CAT COUNTRY)/ST. PAUL, AB, which is moving from 1310 AM to 97.7 FM. The station will move from its presently authorized FM site to the TELUS tower in ST. PAUL, increasing maximum ERP from 36,000 to 50,000 watts and decreasing height above average terrain from 122.6 meters to 80.3 meters. The change was requested due to problems with lease negotiations at the original site.
In addition, MY BROADCASTING CORP. has applied for a power increase for AC CIMY (myFM)/PEMBROKE, ON. The proposal would boost maximum ERP from 2,570 watts to 31,600 watts at 90.5 meters above average terrain.
