CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO today announced enhanced roles for two of its senior executives. Northest Region SVP ROB WILLIAMS will become NEW YORK Market Manager, filling the void left when ANDY ROSEN departed the company in FEBRUARY. Taking over as SVP of the Northeast Region will be Southeast Region SVP TOM SCHURR, who will continue on at the helm of the Southest Region, as well. Effective immediately, WILLIAMS will be based in NEW YORK and SCHURR in FLORIDA.
"The NEW YORK area features some of the greatest radio stations in the country with two stations ranked among the country’s top 10 including WLTW, which in 2005 was the top-billing station in the nation for the third consecutive year," said CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO Pres. and CEO JOHN HOGAN. "ROB’s talent and focus while serving in this interim role made it clear we needed his leadership in the NEW YORK CITY market."
As SVP and Market Manager of NEW YORK, WILLIAMS will oversee the following stations in NYC: WAXQ, WHTZ, WKTU, WLTW, and WWPR-FM 105.1. He will also manage WALK-F and WALK-A/LONG ISLAND.
"It’s great to be back in NEW YORK where we make great strides everyday offering innovative programming, and serving our listeners and communities," said WILLIAMS. "I am excited to have this opportunity to focus on these high-caliber stations that operate in such a critical market."
On SCHURR’s appointment, HOGAN commented: "TOM is a dynamic, talented manager who has proven his ability to improve performance. I have every confidence that by extending his leadership to the Northeast, we will be providing local managers and advertisers with a very valuable resource."
"We have an incredible portfolio of stations in the Northeast region with lots of upside potential," said SCHURR. "I look forward to this expanded opportunity to help grow CLEAR CHANNEL ratings and revenues."
