CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WXKS-A (RUSH RADIO 1200)/BOSTON is adding a weekly Sports talk show hosted by market veterans UPTON BELL and BOB LOBEL. "UPTON AND LOBEL" will air SUNDAYS 9-11a (ET) starting this weekend.
"NEW ENGLAND is the sports center of the universe. So many dragons to slay, I do not know where to start, but I sure as hell know where to find them," said BELL, the former PATRIOTS GM who has hosted in the market at WBZ-A, WEEI-A, WDLW-A, WHDH-A, WSBK-TV, WBIX-A, WMEX-A, and the old WNEV-TV (now WHDH-TV) and who presently hosts at WCRN-A/WORCESTER and provides commentary for NECN. His father was the late NFL commissioner BERT BELL.
LOBEL, who co-hosted "CALLING ALL SPORTS" with BELL at WBZ-A and was the long-time sports anchor at WBZ-TV and later hosted at WODS (OLDIES 103.3), added, "I can not come close to that. UPTON has been everywhere, met everybody and done everything. I am just happy to be in his presence, but remember this: I control the show."
PD BILL GEORGE added, "UPTON and BOB are NEW ENGLAND legends and I'm excited to welcome them to our team. We're delighted to be able to help bring their combined wit and wisdom back to BOSTON radio."
