Former HOLLYWOOD RECORDS Pres. ROBERT PFEIFER has pleaded guilty to wiretapping in the ongoing probe of HOLLYWOOD P.I. ANTHONY PELLICANO, reports THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.
PFEIFER entered the plea to one count of wiretapping FRIDAY (4/7) before a U.S. District Court judge in L.A. Sentencing has been set for JUNE 26, with the former music industry exec facing up to 5 years in prison. Prosecutors agreed to allow PFEIFER to be released on bond, which the judge set at $1 million. PFEIFER, who is expected to be released from custody this week after making bond, hired PELLICANO in JULY 2000 to help with litigation against his former employer, Z-AXIS. Within a month, PELLICANO was using an illegal wiretap to eavesdrop on phone conversations of PFEIFER's ex-girlfriend, ERIN FINN, who had given a deposition in the case that was apparently hurt PFEIFER's case.
