CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFI-A/LOS ANGELES morning man BILL HANDEL and his crew were on hand live from the ANAHEIM WHITE HOUSE restaurant this morning to support the venue's owner BRUNO SERATO and raise funds for SERATO's CATERINA'S GIRLS CLUB charity, which feeds 150-200 "motel kids" nightly as well as providing music lessons, ballet and dance supplies, a "smart girls" program, and transprtation for the children to and from the clubs. The problem of families living from day-to-day in motels in ORANGE COUNTY has grown while the economy has faltered, and SERATO, who has raised over $250,000 since 2003 for the charity, was having a hard time funding the operation to keep children fed.
The live broadcast raised over $67,000 and hundreds of pounds of pasta for CATERINA'S GIRLS CLUB, named after SERATO's mother. HANDEL, GARY HOFFMAN, RICH MAROTTA, TODD WILSON, MIKE NOLAN, MICHELLE KUBE, and SHERON BELLIO were on hand at the broadcast, with MIKE SCHAEFER back at the station's BURBANK studio.
