RADIO DISNEY has a buyer for former affiliate WDDZ-A/PAWTUCKET-PROVIDENCE, as SALEM COMMUNICATIONS (through subsidiary MEDIA ASSOCIATES INC.) buys the now-silent signal for $550,000.
BILL SCHUTZ is serving as broker for the seller while JOHN PIERCE of JOHN PIERCE AND CO. is serving as broker for the buyer in the deal.
Three Station Deals In California
MICHAEL R. QUINN is selling KCNR-A/SHASTA, CA to CARL and LINDA BOTT's FREE FIRE MEDIA, INC. for $250,000 (half cash, half in a promissory note). The BOTTS have been broadcasting their Talk format on the station since last DECEMBER.
In another deal filed with the FCC, DE LA CRUZ INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES, INC. is selling the construction permit for a new FM in BOULDER CREEK, CA to COMMON FREQUENCY, INC. for $8,000.
And in a deal yet to be filed with the FCC, the SISKIYOU DAILY NEWS reports that JEFFERSON PUBLIC RADIO's JPR FOUNDATION is buying Country KSYC-F/YREKA, CA from JAMISON-WOLF ENTERPRISES, INC. for an undisclosed price. JPR will move the News-Talk programming currently airing on its KSYC-A/YREKA to the FM side and least the AM.
In a Silent STA filing, ROBERT CLINT CRAWFORD d/b/a SOUTHWEST RADIO BROADCASTING has applied to the FCC for an extension of the silent STA for KKLB/MADISONVILLE, TX, while the station awaits a new transmitter.
