BROADCAST MANAGEMENT & TECHNOLOGY CEO JAY MEYERS will receive the inaugural Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award in the Humanities and Social Sciences from his alma mater DREXEL UNIVERSITY. The award will be given on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 12th honoring the 20th anniversary of the College of Arts and Sciences.
Dean DONNA MURASKO commented, "It is wonderful to have the opportunity to honor such an accomplished alumnus as JAY MEYERS. After graduating with his degree in Mathematics, JAY went on to an incredibly successful career in radio and broadcast management. His career truly demonstrates the advantages of DREXEL's Cooperative Education Program and the versatility of a degree from the College of Arts and Sciences."
Regarding the award, MEYERS said, "I was originally stunned when I got the call from the University. This is really quite an honor, certainly the greatest I’ve ever received, especially since it is the inaugural award. It seems like just yesterday that a group of college friends and I built and put on the air DREXEL's radio station, WKDU, which is really where I grew my true love for the radio business. I’ve always been thankful that DREXEL was a place where I could not only get a degree, but explore my passion for radio."
