CLEAR CHANNEL AC WASH (97.1 WASH-FM)/WASHINGTON, DC and THE PAUL MITCHELL SCHOOL recently partnered with the non-profit "LOCKS OF LOVE" to find 75 listeners who would donate their extra hair to RESTON HOSPITAL CANCER CENTER. The hair will be used to create hairpieces for sick children in the UNITED STATES and CANADA.
According to WASH-FM midday talent MAUREEN MCLAIN, "Last year I planned on donating my hair to the 'LOCKS OF LOVE' charity and was thrilled when WASH-FM decided to make this a station event to get more women to donate. Honestly, I thought we would have 25 women sign up. Seeing 75 women at the salon all donating their long hair for the 'LOCKS OF LOVE' charity was so wonderful. It was very touching seeing these women give of themselves so selflessly and it was a great experience. We hope to make this an annual event."
