CBC Sports Boss Scott Moore Named President Of Broadcasting At Rogers Media

ROGERS MEDIA has named CBC SPORTS Exec. Dir. and CBC REVENUE GROUP GM SCOTT MOORE as President of Broadcasting, overseeing the company's radio and television properties. MOORE, who starts at ROGERS on DECEMBER 6th, worked for ROGERS as head of cable's ROGERS SPORTSNET before joining the CBC.
ROGERS has also upped ROGERS MEDIA TELEVISION CEO LESLIE SOLE to Chief Content Officer. SOLE will be responsible for overseeing the company's content strategy.
The company also announced that it will purchase for cancellation 2,000,000 of its outstanding Class B Non-Voting shares (about 0.44% of the shares outstanding as of OCTOBER 31st). The deal is with an "arm's-length third party seller" for an aggregate C$67,662,200.
