PREMIERE RADIO NETWORKS welcomed numerous Country artists to its CMA AWARDS Radio Remote broadcast, leading up to the 44th Annual CMA AWARDS. MIRANDA LAMBERT, BRAD PAISLEY, CARRIE UNDERWOOD, LADY ANTEBELLUM, RASCAL FLATTS, TIM McGRAW, ALAN JACKSON, KEITH URBAN and many more visited nearly 50 stations from across the nation.
Participating stations included KFRG/RIVERSIDE-SAN BERNARDINO, WUSN/CHICAGO, WXTU/PHILADELPHIA, WKLB/BOSTON, KMPS/SEATTLE, KILT/HOUSTON, WPOC/BALTIMORE, WYCD/DETROIT, KNIX/PHOENIX and WSIX/NASHVILLE.
PREMIERE partnered with POLYCOM, a global leader in unified communications (UC), to utilize their cutting-edge video and telepresence solutions to give stations the opportunity to virtually participate in the remote broadcast from NASHVILLE NOVEMBER 7th-9th. This allowed radio stations to interview the artists via live video.
Participating video-link stations included WUBL/ATLANTA, WMZQ/WASHINGTON, D.C., WSSL/GREENVILLE, S.C., WBCT/GRAND RAPIDS, KTST/OKLAHOMA CITY and WYRK/BUFFALO. POLYCOM also provided all remote broadcast affiliates, both virtual and on-site, the unique opportunity to download all artist interviews from the remote broadcast to post on their station’s websites.
In addition to the remote broadcast, PREMIERE RADIO’s CMA programming package also included the “CMA AWARDS Preview,” “Black Carpet Reports” and “CMA Post Show.” The “CMA AWARDS Preview,” hosted by STARSTRUCK/VALORY MUSIC CO. artist REBA, aired in advance of “The 44th Annual CMA AWARDS.” The four-hour special featured music and interviews with leading nominees. For the “Black Carpet Reports,” LARRY MORGAN interviewed numerous celebrities and nominees.
The “CMA Post Show” included round-up interviews conducted by BIG MACHINE artist JACK INGRAM and LARRY MORGAN with award winners. All of the backstage/post-show activity was recorded by POLYCOM and made available to Country radio via PREMIERE’s CMA AWARDS Video player that is running on all CMA AWARDS remote affiliate websites.
This is the 19th consecutive year that PREMIERE RADIO has partnered with the COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION to provide radio programming in conjunction with the CMA AWARDS. This year, PREMIERE’s CMA AWARDS programming reached 27.7 million listeners (Persons 12+), according to ARBITRON NATIONWIDE SPRING 2010.
