ALL ACCESS Country Editor JIM ASKER will host “An Evening Of Music” to benefit the LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY on DECEMBER 11th at THE LISTENING ROOM in NASHVILLE from 7-10p (CT).
Singer/songwriter ANITA COCHRAN, COLD RIVER RECORDS artist KATIE ARMIGER and CURB’s ASHLEY GEARING will perform at the show, hosted by GAC’s SUZANNE ALEXANDER. Tickets are $25 and all proceeds from the show will help contribute toward JIM’s $25,000 fundraising goal for the LLS’s TEAM IN TRAINING program.
ASKER, who is a Stage 4 cancer survivor, said: “When I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2005, I had just run a full marathon three months prior. After that, I didn’t run for two years. Now that I am cancer-free and back running, I have vowed that I will keep running for those who can’t, and to raise money to cure this horrible disease once and for all.”
JIM will be running the COUNTRY MUSIC HALF MARATHON on APRIL 30, 2011 and the full 26.2 marathon in DUBLIN, IRELAND in OCTOBER 2011.
He added: “My goal is $25,000. I know that is a hefty goal during challenging economic times—but for people who are fighting cancer, it’s not only worth doing, it’s imperative. I thought that a great night of music around the holidays would be the perfect kind of event to kick off my fundraising. I am so appreciative of SUZANNE and KATIE, ASHLEY and ANITA, who are giving their time to make this happen. I hope that many people will come and celebrate the holiday season with us!”
In addition to the performances, there will also be an on-site silent auction that featured autographed memorabilia, including guitars signed by former ARISTA/NASHVILLE duo BROOKS & DUNN and COLUMBIA/NASHVILLE artist MIRANDA LAMBERT. For more information or to purchase tickets, click here.
