Providence TV, Radio Host George Allen Dead At 71

Condolences to family and friends of PROVIDENCE TV and radio personality GEORGE ALLEN, who died MONDAY (11/15) in BARRINGTON, RI from an infection developed after he suffered a stroke in 2009, reports the ASSOCIATED PRESS.  He was 71.

ALLEN worked over the years at WPEP-A/TAUNTON, WLKW-A and WPRO-A/PROVIDENCE, and WSAR-A/FALL RIVER, MA and did television at WTEV (TV) (now WLNE-TV) and WPRI-TV/PROVIDENCE, most notably hosting "DIALING FOR DOLLARS" on both TV stations.
