MYSPACE, once the dominant social networking space, has signed an agreement with rival -- and much larger -- site FACEBOOK to allow users to sign in to MYSPACE using their FACEBOOK account. RUPERT MURDOCH’s NEWS CORP bought MYSPACE for $580 million in 2005.
MYSPACE said that its new "Mashup with FACEBOOK" feature would allow people to sync their MYSPACE and FACEBOOK status updates, reports U.K.'s TELEGRAPH. FACEBOOK's "Like" button is also being rolled out across MYSPACE.
"We are thrilled to further our collaboration with FACEBOOK through this deal," said MYSPACE CEO MIKE JONES. "This new feature is a great illustration of our strategy around social entertainment and enabling the real-time stream."
MYSPACE has posted a video about the offering here.
