Call it the JUSTIN BIEBER juggernaut -- as the ISLAND DEF JAM teen star owned last night's AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS, winning four awards. BIEBER topped LADY GAGA, KATY PERRY, EMINEM and USHER to win the coveted Artist Of The Year award.
JUSTIN BIEBER, reminding us that he's just 16, said, "I've been singing EMINEM since I was three and USHER is my mentor -- so this is big."
BIEBER also won in the three other categories he was nominated for -- favorite pop/rock album, breakthrough artist and favorite male pop artist.
The BLACK EYED PEAS were named the best pop/rock band, USHER won the R&B/soul award for his sixth album "Raymond V Raymond," RIHANNA was voted best R&B female and TAYLOR SWIFT won favorite female country artist.
EMINEM, along with LADY ANTEBELLUM, had been the leading nominees with five awards. SLIM SHADY won two, along with USHER, who also nabbed a pair. LADY ANTEBELLUM took home one award.
Performances included RIHANNA, KATY PERRY, KID ROCK and PINK.
