THE COUNTRY NETWORK (TCN), a Country music video television network located in NASHVILLE, TN, has signed an agreement to air on four YOUNG BROADCASTING television stations, including KRON/SAN FRANCISO, WRIC/RICHMOND, WATE/KNOXVILLE and WLNS/LANSING.
It is anticipated that the stations will begin broadcasting TCN by DECEMBER, with the exception of LANSING, which will start in first quarter 2011. TCN expects to have these channels carried by the majority of the cable systems in RICHMOND, KNOXVILLE and LANSING within 60 days of the beginning of transmission. TCN and KRON are working together to secure carriage in SAN FRANCISCO.
TCN has a previously announced agreement with SINCLAIR BROADCAST GROUP, INC. to air on 28 of its stations and is currently live on 22 of those stations. An additional 6 are expected to begin broadcasting TCN shortly. The addition of the four YOUNG stations to this line up will bring TCN’s coverage to 20% of US television households.
TCN will be the only television network dedicated exclusively to airing Country music videos. TCN will be "all Country Music, all the time."
“We are delighted to add YOUNG BROADCASTING to our lineup of affiliates, and look forward to adding the millions of Country fans in these four markets to our growing legion of viewers,” said WARREN HANSEN, founder and CEO of TCN.
