ALL ACCESS has learned that after nearly a dozen years as part of the BIG SHOW with SCOTT SHANNON & TODD PETTENGILL at CITADEL Hot AC WPLJ/NEW YORK, the lovely and talented PATTY STEELE has announced her resignation, effective shortly after the 'PLJ HOLIDAY BASH, starring O.A.R., TRAIN and special guest RYAN STAR, DECEMBER 15th at the BEST BUY THEATER in TIMES SQUARE.
While CITADEL VP/Programming and WPLJ PD SCOTT SHANNON had "no official word yet on PATTY," MS. STEELE confirmed her exit to ALL ACCESS, saying, "I couldn't be more grateful for the amazing years I've had at 'PLJ. How fortunate I've been to be a part of the magic that SCOTT and TODD bring to NYC, my hometown, during my almost 12 years with them. They've been my teachers, my daily laughter, and my friends. And occasionally my sparring partners :-) I can't wait to bring all I've learned to my next endeavor. There is nothing more exhilarating than radio. We get to communicate on the most intimate level. A whisper in the dark..."
PATTY began her radio career as a teenage intern at then Top 40 giant WABC-A/NEW YORK back in its Top 40 heyday, worked at News WCBS-A and eventually spent a dozen years at WPLJ, along with stops in ST. LOUIS, PITTSBURGH, WASHINGTON DC, and BALTIMORE in her early career, having worked mornings with radio legends like JOHN LANDER and DANNY BONADUCE.
