NASHVILLE music industry organization SOLID (SOCIETY OF LEADERS IN DEVELOPMENT) made the holiday season official with their “TURKEY BOWL’’ football game along with NASHVILLE SPORTS LEAGUES as 12 music industry companies. Together they collected more than 4,000 nonperishable food items for SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK of MIDDLE TENNESSEE and funds for St. JUDE CHILDREN’s RESEARCH.
The one-day co-ed flag football tournament crowned SHOW DOG – UNIVERSAL MUSIC the tournament winner, and CMT took first place in the consolation bracket.
This year, SOLID introduced another aspect into the event with a pre-tournament food drive competition. WILLIAM MORRIS ENDEAVOR ENTERTAINMENT led the drive followed by UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP.
“We quickly found out how seriously some of these teams take this tournament. Last MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15th, was food collection day, and it ended up being more work than anyone on the board imagined. SOLID’s IAM WOLCZYK and JEN SMITH worked tirelessly, collecting more than 4,000 food items. I am thrilled to know that SOLID and MUSIC ROW professionals have helped feed MIDDLE TENNESSEE this THANKSGIVING,” said SOLID President KATIE POPE.
