Days after signing STEVE CZABAN to a new contract, RED ZEBRA BROADCASTING Sports WTEM-A (ESPN 980)/WASHINGTON has inked CZABAN's afternoon "THE SPORTS REPORTERS" co-host ANDY POLLIN to a new three-year deal. POLLIN and CZABAN have hosted the show for 10 years, and POLLIN has been with the station since its inception 18 years ago.
Dir./Programming CHUCK SAPIENZA said, "ANDY POLLIN is sports talk radio in WASHINGTON, DC. He has been with the station since day one and ESPN 980 would not be where it is today without ANDY."
Acting CEO RICK CARMEAN said, "ANDY's take on local sports and his understanding of REDSKINS history is unmatched in WASHINGTON, DC."
POLLIN said, "In a business where job stints are often measured in months, I have been thrilled to be here since they turned on the lights more than 18 years ago, and look forward to being here for many more years. TONY KORNHEISER and I were among the original staff. We've both done better talking in to the microphone than giving advice behind it. Before he won an Emmy award for producing 'My Name is Earl,' we told board operator GREG GARCIA he was foolish to drive to HOLLYWOOD to seek fame and fortune. Oh well."
