BBC RADIO LEEDS midday host ALEX BELFIELD has apologized and been given a one-day suspension for remarks about BBC1/YORKSHIRE "LOOK NORTH" TV weathercaster KEELEY DONOVAN. The YORKSHIRE POST reports that BELFIELD apologized for the comments, described by the paper as "lewd comments about watching her TV broadcasts while sat (sic) at home."
A BBC spokesperson told the POST, "ALEX BELFIELD has apologized unreservedly for comments he made to one of the BBC weather presenters and agrees that they were totally inappropriate. Action has been taken."
