Here is a recap of some select PPM market highlights from NOVEMBER 2010, compiled by dmr for ALLACCESS and powered by XTrends, radio's #1 PPM and diary analysis tool.
Detroit November 2010: News, Sports Overall Winners; WNIC Grabbing Women
CBS RADIO News WWJ-A (5.7), CBS RADIO Sports WXYT-F (97.1 THE TICKET) (5.7), and CITADEL Talk WJR-A (5.2) were the Top 3 stations P6+ in DETROIT in NOVEMBER. WWJ-A’s NOVEMBER added to previous months of growth (see Snapshot Trends below).
Meantime, CLEAR CHANNEL AC WNIC was making moves on the women of the MOTOR CITY rising from #10 W25-54 as recently as AUGUST to #2 in NOVEMBER, within breathing distance of #1 CITADEL Hot AC WDVD (96.3 DVD). WNIC rose up to the top spot in W35-64 with RADIO ONE Urban WDMK (105.9 KISS FM) #2 and 96.3 DVD #5t.

Atlanta November 2010: 18-34 Is The Format Battleground In Atlanta
There were several close format battles focused in the P18-34 demo in ATLANTA in NOVEMBER. #1 CBS RADIO Urban WVEE (V-103) held off a surging #2 RADIO ONE Urban WHTA (HOT 107.9). Next in line (#3) was CUMULUS Top 40/Mainstream WWWQ (Q100), no doubt feeling the heat from #4 CLEAR CHANNEL Rhythmic AC WWVA (105-7 THE GROOVE), which has risen from #17 since AUGUST (see Snapshot Trends below). Then there’s the Country battle, where CITADEL Country WKHX (#7) has passed CLEAR CHANNEL Country WUBL (THE BULL)(#8), though THE BULL gained in upper demos.
P6+ winners were V-103 (8.9), COX News/Talk WSB-A (8.7), and RADIO ONE Gospel WPZE (PRAISE 102.5) tied with COX RADIO Urban AC WALR (KISS 104.1) for third (5.8)

Pittsburgh November 2010: WDVE, Steelers Hard To Beat In The Steel City
CLEAR CHANNEL Rock WDVE built on its impressive lead in PITTSBURGH in NOVEMBER for the third month in a row (see Snapshot Trends below). The STEELERS flagship was the P6+ winner (11.4) while CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WKST was second (7.4) and CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WPGB tied with CBS RADIO Talk KDKA-A for third (7.3) Pick any other major demo, save for teens and P18-34, and WDVE was #1.
WKST maintained its #1 position P18-34, though WDVE was a close #2 with CLEAR CHANNEL Alternative WXDX (105.9 THE X) at #3. WKST dominate WOMEN 25-54, with CBS RADIO Hot AC WZPT and RENDA AC WSHH fighting for second and third positions. The two ACs separated themselves a bit in upper demos where WSHH was #2t vs. WZPT at #7 with W25-54. With W35-64 WSHH was #4t vs. WZPT at #9. STEEL CITY MEDIA Adult Hits WRRK (96.9 BOB-FM) was #1 in both demos.

Sacramento November 2010: Rock, Rhythm Make Sacramento Move
Though CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFBK-A (8.0) was the #1 station P6+ in SACRAMENTO in NOVEMBER, it was rock and rhythm that made up the rest of the Top 5. ENTERCOM Active Rock KRXQ was #2 (7.1) followed by ENTERCOM Classic Rock KSEG (EAGLE 96.9) (5.9), ENTERCOM Top 40 KDND (107.9 THE END) (5.5), and CBS RADIO Top 40/Rhythmic KSFM (4.9).
KRXQ was #1 P18-34, while #2 KSFM led the three Top 40s that followed including #3 107.9 THE END and #4 ENTRAVISION Top 40/Rhythmic KHHM (HOT 103.5).
KXRQ held on to the top spot P25-54 followed by EAGLE 96.9 and KFBK-A. 107.9 THE END stayed at #4 as KSFM has trended up from #10 to #5 since AUGUST (see Snapshot Trends below).
Two ACs switched places P25-54 with CLEAR CHANNEL Rhythmic AC KHYL (V101.1) (#6) passing CBS RADIO AC KYMX (MIX 96), which dropped to #7, though MIX 96 (#3) bested V101.1 (#5) in P35-64.
