It was on this day 22 years ago, DECEMBER 6, 1988, that the great ROY ORBISON passed away from a heart attack. At the time of his passing, ORBISON had two Top 5 albums, “Mystery Girl” and “The Travelling Wilburys” and was in the midst of a world-wide tour. Throughout his career, ROY brought us hits like “Oh, Pretty Woman,” “Only the Lonely,” “Crying,” “In Dreams,” “Blue Bayou” and “You Got It.”
His official website, www.royorbison.com is celebrating the life of ROY by asking fans to post their favorite ROY ORBISON memory, story, or photo in the website’s online forum. The 10 best fan submissions will be chosen and displayed on the front page of RoyOrbison.com. Winning fans will also receive exclusive items from the ROY ORBISON STORE.
SONY LEGACY and ROY ORBISON ENTERPRISES are also putting together a special campaign to celebrate the late artist’s 75th birthday early next spring. Keep an eye out for news and updates at www.royorbison.com.
