Corus Q2 Revenues, Net Loss Up

Canadian radio/TV operator CORUS ENTERTAINMENT INC. second quarter radio revenues rose 8% to C$57.784 million, with segment profit falling 5% to C$9.5 million. The VANCOUVER, CALGARY, WINNIPEG, and ONTARIO regional station clusters were credited with "above average market growth." Local sales rose 6% and national sales rose 8% for the quarter.
The company's overall revenues rose 6% to C$164.4 million, with net income down from a gain of C$12.9 million to a loss of C$65.7 million (+30 cents/share to -C$1.54/share).
