WFMU Fundraiser Lifts Off ...Slowly

AURICLE COMMUNICATIONS Variety WFMU/NEW YORK will be hosting a 24-hour fundraiser on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 8th; the goal is to raise $180,000 to support the station's operating costs. WFMU will be taking pledges to send Station Manager KEN FREEDMAN, seated in a lawnchair, aloft with helium balloons.

For every $1,000 raised, WFMU fill a large balloon with helium and tie it to KEN's lawn chair. If successful, KEN will lift off! WFMU will be broadcasting the event live on air, and will host a live video feed of the whole debacle, so you won't want to miss out.
