Richmond Sportscaster, Station Manager Frank Soden Dies At 91

Condolences to family and friends of former WRNL-A/RICHMOND GM, EVP, and play-by-play sportscaster FRANK SODEN, who died SUNDAY at 91, according to the RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH.

SODEN called RICHMOND minor league baseball (the VIRGINIANS and R-BRAVES) from 1954 through 1984, and also called UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA, VIRGINIA TECH, and UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND football and UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND basketball over the years. In later years, he hosted "Battle of the Brains" on PBS affiliate WCVE-TV/RICHMOND and called SUNDAY R-BRAVES games until 2001.
