This year's winner of the FORD C. FRICK Award from the BASEBALL HALL OF FAME is FLORIDA MARLINS radio voice DAVE VAN HORNE. VAN HORNE called MONTREAL EXPOS games from the team's inception in 1969 until leaving to join the MARLINS in 2001. He has called 10 no-hitters, including two perfect games, and was the radio announcer for the MARLINS' 2003 World Championship club.
VAN HORNE, whose MARLINS calls are heard on LINCOLN FINANCIAL Sports WAXY-A (790 THE TICKET)/MIAMI, will be honored at the Hall's induction ceremony on JULY 24th.
