Condolences to family and friends of JAMES DIBBLE, the longtime news anchor at the AUSTRALIAN BROADCASTING CORP.'s SYDNEY TV station, who died after a battle with cancer at 87.
DIBBLE started his career at ABC in CANBERRA after serving in WORLD WAR II, and moved to television when he read the network's first TV news bulletin on ABN-2/SYDNEY on NOVEMBER 5, 1956. He worked at the ABC through 1983, except for a short run at 2GB/SYDNEY.
